From the Where2sing.com forum: Many thanks Jason. It's the question you ask yourself before you build something... 'what's the alternative?' I moved from Brisbane to Sydney, scoured the web for venues, and the first 3 that I went to didn't run karaoke any more. Then I went to the Brighton on Oxford Street because I'd seen their sign as I'd waited at the lights, and there I asked singers what other places they knew; a couple thought there was some other places in the city, that's all. Now when I go around, I find other people telling me about W2S as the only place to go to find gigs. As long as hosts and venues don't advertise their gigs, or put up a banner outside, there'll be a place for W2S - and now that there is W2S, many of these people rely on the website. Of course being asked to subscribe makes people say 'why should I?'
But it shouldn't take more than a few seconds before the answer comes back - 'because it's a heap cheaper than driving around and ringing around to find your own venues.' Meet karaoke hosts and singers in the Where2sing.com forums . . . |
