| From the Where2sing.com forum: OK, so they can smell “fraud” when we pump through $4.5M worth of IDOL votes … hahaha! (refer to comments in the “Ask David” section). BUT that is so unfair - how do they distinguish this “scheme” from those like whole country towns running chook-raffles and barn dances, etc. to raise money, then buy phone cards to vote for their candidate, like they did for Shannon, and what Guy’s church did for him … why then are those “legit”??
ANYWAY … to another money making scheme …
In that case, we can adopt the RockStar approach to run our own REALITY SHOW...
The RockStar approach is FOOL-PROOF ! I call it the “Heads I Win, Tails You Lose” CON … to me, the RockStar concept (INXS and SuperNova) is a CON from the word go !
The Producers, INXS and SuperNova, could have picked their “Winner” at the start of the series, and then milk everyone for everything for the 12-13 weeks they run the show, and can even make it dramatic and climatic for a bit of spice along the way.
The concept is so simple that most people fair to see it !
The public’s votes all account to NOTHING … A BIG FAT ZERO ! INXS / SuperNova has the SOLE power to eliminate a candidate ... it is NOT based on the number of votes each person gets.
Each week, based on the public’s voting, they have a “Bottom 3” from which they select one to turf off the show. Even if their choice is in the public’s “Bottom 3” EVERY week, INXS / SuperNova can still keep their choice in the contest, by simply NOT eliminating him or her!!??!!
Even to the very last show, when they have the public’s “Bottom 2” – even if their choice is in the final Bottom 2, INXS and SuperNova STILL has the sole power to keep that person in the race !
And guess who has the power to pick the eventual winner out of the so called FINAL 3 … hahaha! Well, it’s INXS or SuperNova !
Those guys can make a real killing with the betting !!!!!
