As a Host I also like to hear from the great to bad and those in-between.
If we had every singer sounding and looking like professionals it wouldn’t be to long before Karaoke would die.
Now you may ask my reason behind that and it’s quite simple.
How many of you regular singers have said or heard someone say “hope I’m not next” just after a great singer has sung.
To have a mix of singing quality from the good the bad and the not so ugly tends to encourage new singers also to have a go.
If every Karaoke Show (apart from Finals in competitions) had all great singers, moving and enthralling the audience, then you would charge people to see it and call it a Cabaret Show.
I still go back to the old saying “Karaoke should be about having fun” and when people get too serious about it, the fun factor starts to disappear and the bitchiness begins to creep in.
I’m not knocking anyone that can sing and has the moves to match, but please don’t knock others that stand there like a shag on a rock having their 5 minutes of fun and fame because they are entitled to sing the way they want as well.
