From the Where2sing.com forum:

Brumby....I cant help but think there must be more to the story than you're telling us for you to lose that gig.If you were doing a good job then they would hardly want to get rid of you. Did one (or more ) of the patrons complain to the staff , that you sang to much. Or maybe you did something else to piss them off ?....
BTW....'the last time I attended this event'.....I presume you mean a KWC competition in your area , right ?

Kate Kelly.....Thanks for the broad overview of the KWC finals . You're right of course , that back here , sitting at our computers , we can't grasp the ambience of the evening , or the performer's ' X ' factor , & from the photo of his performance , Mark certainly looked like he was putting in hard !! ( though at first glance I thought one of the other contestants might have kicked him in the nuts & inadvertantly given him a boost on the high notes !! ) I hope Mark has a good sense of humour . With such a eunich , (oops , I mean unique !!) , voice the title of Karaoke World Champ. may well be as much a burden as a boost when singing at some of the local venues in the future
I like the sound of the 'accumulative' scoring system , where the last song doesn't neccessarily nail it for you . I imagine this final all happened in the one night , right ? I didn't get to see the state or Aust. finals .Were they run this way too ?
I hope you'll encourage Mark to get into this chat forum , I'd love to 'chat' with him about it all , & please assure him that despite some (good natured ) digs at his vocal style , we all do congratulate him & wish him all the best in the future !....
