A DIFFERENT KARAOKE COMP

My target contestant-pool:
(1) Professionals, semi-professionals and retired professionals who do not otherwise qualify for other singing comps.
(2) Professionals, semi-professionals and retired professionals who see this as a chance for some further exposure, and a good chance to win some money along the way.
(3) Performers who don’t normally compete at other comps because of perceived bias, and see this as something different (as EVERYTHING is made transparent to all, and they all participate in some collective decision making at the outset too)
(4) “Real” performers who excel in several genres / styles.
(5) Performers who see this as an “easier” comp : Don’t have to win Venue Heats to get into a Venue Final to compete again to be a Venue Winner, and then, as with some comps then have to compete further with other Venue Winners to be judged a State Representative, then compete further still at a National Level : This is one comp, one shot, competing against 49 other contestants.
(6) Lead singers of local bands trying out as a solo artiste.
(7) Affluent “baby-boomers” wanting to surprise friends and family with their “hidden talent” by inviting them all to a night out and then holding centre stage for 30 minutes or so.
(8) Participants of the “Weekend Warriors” program looking for yet another avenue to showcase their passion ($250 is what they pay too under that program).
(9) Pushy parents / grand-parents and spouses of wannabes.

PS: Once again thanks for all your feedback. There are only 2 responses thus far at the Karaoke Club Australia site – both positive, both from singers who are interested – one interstater who even contemplates travelling to Melbourne for it!

Meet karaoke hosts and singers in the Where2sing.com forums . . .

KARAOKE in Australia

You've found the #1 website with the original and biggest karaoke gig listings database listing nearly 1,000 gigs across all states of Australia - each listing with full venue name, address, phone number plus extensive information about the gig itself. Read feedback from singers who have already visited the venue, and see information such as songlist size, crowd size, type of singer and even how much applause you can expect when you visit each gig.

Or visit the forums where both singers and hosts meet and chat - including State-chat forums where you can make friends whom you'll meet up with at a venue near you.

And there are the Gig Reviews, the constantly updated 'National Top 10 Karaoke Venues' chart, specialised lists of venues for Under 18s and currently running Competitions, lists for karaoke rooms, restaurants, karaoke hosts and supplliers, and karaoke news from all around the workd.

Of course, the best way to keep up to date is by opting in for the FREE weekly Karaoke News Email.
