I always thought than in order to be a good karaoke host you must be a good singer. Perhaps that was just an assumption more than it was a necessity. I suppose as long as your first love is karaoke then being able to sing is not really deemed as a necessity as not everyone who attends karaoke can sing (Captain State The Obvious Comment) so if they see that the host cannot sing also YET he/she is up there running the show then it may just give them the encouragement they need to get up there themselves.
