| From the Where2sing.com forum: HI DJ scottie......Sorry to hear about your job , i think i've been to this pub, is it near the old hospital that they closed down in late 90's ? , we had agreat night , but anyway this has been happening to many fair dinkem good hosts for sometime on the main land , the only thing you can do is bite the bullet and move on, you never know but this may have happen for a reason and some bigger & better doors are just ready for you to open , and this rotten undercutter will learn that what goes around ,comes around ,he's really not doing anyone any favours but mostly himself as it a silly and a hard life to live from hand to mouth , if the venue rings you back (which will be more than likely) , make sure you negotate a deal more in your favour i.e an increase in payment, some riders (food & drink), they must know that you do not want to used & they must treat you with respect ..a very well know business (who i had a partnership in a club) once said to me ..that the one thing that will distroy a business and bring it to its knee's is greed & stupity ...but the temptations of saving maybe something like $200 is far to great for them as they think they have 'got the crowd' and they really can't see the differance in the all round performance (hosting / discs / equipment ,so they say to themself 'shit ' i can save some real bucks here , but after a couple shows they will start seeing ther mistake .. anyway all the best in the future , keep your chin up..
