From the Where2sing.com forum:

Puss In Boots. You did the best that you could do in the semi-finals and perhaps you expected a bit too much of yourself, as you have said, you have been singing for less than a year and for someone to go into a talent contest with less than a years' experience would be a daunting prospect. I didn't try the talent contest 'thing' until I had been a regular singer at karaoke for about 2 or 3 years!! You did what you could do, you have learnt from it and now you should go on, learn new songs, watch other performers in the up coming semi finals, get some 'tricks of the trade' from the seasoned talent contestants and you will probably incorporate some of the things they do into what you do next time. It never hurts to watch and learn.

Mic Rophone, if you noticed a difference in the sound, you should have bought it to Joe's attention. Joe is a seasoned professional and the one of the best sound technicians around. If you are in the semi finals on the 18th, then you will have Joe on the sound. So if you feel there is any problem with the sound, please bring it to his attention. Good luck in your semi final.

Catman, You know Joe fairly well and how he handles the sound. Joe would never intentionally favour one person over another especially during a competition, he is so very meticulous with the sound, he is always walking back and forth to the centre of the floor to check the sound levels.

Music Addict. Catman was not there on the night, she rarely goes to CCC, the people at the first table were Puss in Boots, her partner Neville, some friends of hers both from work and another karaoke show and I think you also met my husband Mick. It was nice to meet you after seeing your comments on this forum for so long. I'm glad you enjoyed the semi finals and I hope that Rochelle does well in the Grand Final.

As I said to Mic Rophone in a brief talk that I had with him recently, I think that any of five or six people can take out the Grand Final of this talent contest, although one that I thought who had a chance didn't get through on Saturday night and that is a bit of a disappointment as Sheryl usually has a very unique voice and I don't know what happened with her that she had two major 'blues' resulting in her not getting through to the Grand Final. I will be interested to see who gets through both next week and the week after - to me, Chris Lee was the stand out performer in the semi finals last Saturday night, who is going to take him on in the Grand Final?? It will be very interesting.

I hope that everyone has a good day.
