| From the Where2sing.com forum: Houndog: I know you hosted Friday, I was suggesting you check out Mondays (its an Open Mic night using the house sound system). I think *you* do a good job of adjusting and keeping an eye on whats working etc.
There are advantages in checking out other venues and other nights as you get ideas. I know the sound changes in the room depending upon where you are, and other venues seem to cope with this better. In particular, check out the setup at Chatswood as they have a room slightly bigger yet get the same quality everywhere from just three speakers. I'm not gunno go into compressors and other gadgets here but just to say I'm comparing against venues with this gear.
Just mark me down as a picky bastard when it comes to competition venues ;)
