Friday night karaoke in Sydney Friday night's Mission: With the three venues so close to each other I aimed to grab a sing at each place by midnight...
1. Started out at Tailors on Central where I met Rob the KJ, a real nice guy and extremely enthusiastic host. Anyway it started a lot later than I anticipated which put me behind the eight-ball, but I had a plan and steely determination!! The songlist is one of the best I've seen and the sound system is very good and loud but the space is rather enclosed, and the tiny stage made me feel like I might be about to receive a medal rather than sing a song. Those that sang while I was there really seemed to be enjoying themselves which is what its all about after all. I squeezed two songs off there before making a beeline for The Macquarie.
2. Yeah, definitely a Karaoke venue in the old style and my kind of place. Great hosts who were valiantly struggling with a small and dwindling audience. I walked in at 9.50, out at 10.55 and still got to sing three... now those kind of opportunities don't happen often.
