Crashed and burned at karaokeFirst time I got up to sing karaoke was with a close friend. We practiced the song Miss Independent the week before and thought our performance rocked! LOL However, on the night the pub was full of smoke and we had had a few. When we finally got on stage my throat was sore from the smoke. The song started out really well and the crowd was getting into it! Further into the song I had a solo section, by this time my throat was worse and instead of a solo, it was really bad, off key croaky sound. I tried to improvise but only made it worse. It was a disaster and to top off, the woeful performance my friend somehow managed to fall off the stage.
