One thing that I do like about karaoke - and in particular some shows that I go to - is that the older singers (those who would be aged 70 or more) are made very welcome and encouraged to sing. I well remember an older man (his name was Johnny for anyone who remembers him) who admitted to being 92 getting up on stage at a venue in Blacktown years ago and singing his heart out and he got a rousing response. I know of a few venues that older singers attend and they are made to feel very welcome, goes to show they are still valuable members of society and not just destined for the old age scrapheap that some try to put them on.
