I have been to venues that have LOTS of singers (which take ages to get a turn), and venues that have few singers (with music breaks between them). I enjoy both. The hosts are what makes the difference. Good attitude, good personality, fair play. If they are having fun, I typically get pulled in as well. There are all types of singers out there too, and it is fair play that allows each singer to get a turn. I do enjoy it when a host 'assists' a newbie singer (or a newbie song).
