From the Where2sing.com stories:
Boiling Point

We karaoke singers at Coffs Harbour used to have a venue, The Hoey Moey, that ran every thursday night for about ten years. The smallest crowd I ever saw there was about 50 people on a rainy winter's night, the most being about 300, with an average of about 80-100.We had a good compere, good equipment, great songlist, and a few fairly good singers. The pub was taken over recently by owners who said they preferred live music,i.e. musicians jam night (dismal failure) . Their takings on thursday nights must be down considerably. A classic case of bite your nose off to spite your face! What bugs me is the fact that 80-100 peoples weekly enjoyment and entertainment has been taken away by people who are supposed to be providing entertainment
