Losing my virginity..and other things! I first visited a karaoke outlet in club in Sydney metro back in 1992. Back then karaoke was in it's infancy in Australia. The backing discs were not that crash hot in quality. Furthermore the size of the equipment in running a karaoke was so massive that it required the space of a small room to accomodate it. Due to the largesse of the operation a karaoke outfit back then usually required more than one person to operate it.. There was a stage and the audience unlike now was only seated a short distance away, facing it, not unlike a movie theatre. This made you feel more like a 'star'.
