I wish karaoke would run on time. An 8pm start should mean 7.45 to 8.15, not 9pm or 9.30pm. Often you'll see a host around long before, then he goes for a smoke. As a singer you turn up soon after the karaoke has started, so every time it starts later, you turn up a little bit later again. Soon they can the karaoke saying there are not enough singers. If they want singers there early, then give a free drink to the first few or something like that. But to start late is to kill their own business.
